Job summary

BETWEEN is seeking a Mechanical Procurement Engineer specialized in sheet metal and mechanical fabrication to partner with design, operations, quality and manufacturing teams in Singapore. You will drive direct procurement for sheet metal parts and fabricated assemblies, ensuring on-time delivery and cost optimization.

This role requires deep knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, reading mechanical drawings, and coordinating suppliers.

Qualifications

• Experience in sheet metal fabrication processes and supplier coordination.
• Strong ability to read mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Experience in RFQs and cost-reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct procurement activities for mechanical components, mainly sheet metal parts and fabricated assemblies.
• Ensure availability of parts according to quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
• Coordinate daily with manufacturing and fabrication suppliers regarding delivery schedules, capacity planning, shortages, and quality topics.
• Lead RFQs, cost analysis, and cost-reduction initiatives with suppliers and internal teams.
• Evaluate technical feasibility of parts, manufacturing processes, materials, tolerances, and potential design improvements.
• Work with R&D and mechanical design teams to support DFM/DFx reviews for sheet metal and fabricated components.
• Support qualification of mechanical parts and assemblies, ensuring compliance with design and reliability requirements.
• Drive supplier performance improvements, including follow-ups on quality actions, root cause analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain procurement documentation, technical drawings, and supplier performance metrics.
• Collaborate closely with local manufacturing partners in Singapore, including regular visits to suppliers and production sites.
• Communicate fluently in English with global engineering, quality, and sourcing teams.

How you will work

• Hybrid work model with manufacturing partners in Singapore.
• Monthly net salary: 6,500–9,000 SGD (x 12 payments), depending on demonstrated experience.
• Permanent contract from day one.
