Job summary

AECOM Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking an Associate Director - Mechanical Data Centre Design to lead mechanical design delivery for hyperscale data centres. You will act as a technical expert within multi-disciplinary teams and engage with major technology clients to ensure premier project outcomes.

In this role, you will drive sector growth, manage objectives, schedules and resources, and uphold high-quality standards while strengthening client partnerships across Singapore and globally.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering electrical engineering projects within Data Centres and other Mission Critical environments, with strong client-facing credentials.
• Proven capability in work winning alongside strong commercial acumen, including the management of project teams, budgets, schedules and quality.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical design and engineering practices for Data Centers, including power distribution, resilience, redundancy, and overall interface with client technical requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively both internally and externally, and eligibility to obtain Baseline (or higher) AGSVA clearance.
• Relevant professional qualifications, including a degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) certification, and registration or eligibility for registration (e.g., CPEng, NER), ideally complemented by Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with CIBSE or an equivalent institute.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design delivery for data center projects, acting as a recognized technical expert and ensuring outputs meet the needs of our diverse client base.
• Drive project excellence by defining objectives and deliverables, organizing schedules and resources, applying strong engineering judgement, and ensuring consistent, high-quality standards across the Data Centre's Mechanical sector.
• Strengthen client partnerships by fully understanding their business, organizational structure and culture, and proactively responding to their requirements and market changes.
• Lead sector growth activities, including bid and proposal development, thought leadership contributions, and ensuring seamless, co-ordinated mechanical services delivery across the projects.
