Job summary

Excelitas Technologies Corp. is seeking a Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer to develop and optimize process workflows for ultra-clean, semiconductor and life science applications.

You will design, transfer, and industrialize processes for optical fiber assemblies and related products, ensuring cleanroom compliance and stable production. The role involves leading continuous improvement, translating customer requirements into practical engineering solutions, and creating detailed manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years in mechanical/manufacturing/process engineering or product development in relevant industries.
• Experience in optical fiber assembly or precision optics manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Experience with NPI, process development, and transfer to production.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design manufacturing process workflows for ultra-clean product assembly.
• Industrialize new processes for optical fiber assemblies and related products.
• Implement cleanroom requirements and process specs for stable production.
• Optimize assembly and manufacturing procedures to improve productivity, quality, and cost.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and mentor team members.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering solutions and manufacturing docs.
• Create drawings, BOMs, routing, and assembly instructions for prototype and production builds.
• Support prototype assembly, product validation, testing, and mass production ramp-up.
• Perform tolerance stack-up and GD&T analyses for manufacturability and design compliance.
• Review and maintain engineering docs including ECNs and DFMEA.
• Maintain accurate BOMs, routing, and master data in ERP/PLM systems.
• Prepare SOPs, work instructions, and technical docs.
