Job description

HDR is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Singapore Building Engineering Services (BES) team. This position will work on projects across a range of markets, primarily the Mission Critical sector.

Responsibilities

• Deliver building services design packages from concept through to construction
• Undertake detailed engineering calculations, design development and system selection
• Produce coordinated, compliant drawings, reports and specifications
• Ensure designs meet Australian codes, standards and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate discipline inputs and resolve design interfaces
• Support construction‑phase activities including inspections and technical queries

Contribute to technical improvement initiatives and best practice.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Typically 6‑12 years of relevant experience
• Familiar with local code and authority submission procedures
• Good working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice and guidelines
• Commitment to continuous professional development, both for own development and that of team members
• Mission Critical Design / Data Centre Design experience is an added advantage
• Design experience with BIM is an added advantage
• Knowledge consulting and successful project management experience in the MEP sector is an added advantage
• Appreciates teamwork and possesses good interpersonal skills
• Singaporean or Permanent Resident
