Job summary

Versuni in Singapore seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical development of Garment Care products, from concept through prototyping and mass production.

You will design mechanical functions, simulate performance, and transition designs to manufacturing, while ensuring safety, quality and manufacturability in a consumer electronics/home appliance context. Collaboration across teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in mechanical industrial engineering.
• Strong interest in product innovation, especially consumer products.
• Good knowledge of mechanics/heat transfer/flow dynamics and their application.
• Good knowledge of plastics & metals processing engineering.
• Good knowledge of systems and their interactions.
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
• Minimum BSc Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of NX or other major CAD software, DFSS, Ansys.

Responsibilities

• Defines and designs mechanical functions based on product requirements, feasibility, cost and aesthetics.
• Evaluates mechanical options and optimizes components, modules and systems for product realization.
• Tests and assesses safety, quality, usability, robustness, manufacturability and sustainability of parts and functions.
• Builds prototypes and evaluates performance, optimizes design based on product and user requirements using simulations.
• Creates a transition for the product from design to manufacturing.
• Supports quality maintenance and improvement of mechanical subsystems.
• Ensures documentation follows I2M processes.

Are you ready to be the Senior Mechanical Engineer of Garment Care Products? As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to take part in the mechanical development of Garment Care products, incorporating useful innovations to fulfill the needs of consumers, from detailed design, prototyping and testing until industrialization and mass production.

The Impact You’ll Make:

• Defines and designs mechanical functions based on product requirements, technical feasibility, cost and aesthetical design in-line with agreed value proposition
• Evaluates mechanical options and optimize components, modules and systems for product realization;
• Test and evaluates safety, quality, useability, robustness, manufacturability and sustainability of parts and functions
• Build prototypes and evaluate performance, optimize design based on product and user requirements using state-of-the-art simulation techniques
• Create a transition for the product from design to manufacturing
• Supports quality maintenance and improvement of mechanical (sub-)system
• Ensure that documentation takes place according to the I2M processes

The Skills and Knowledge You’ll Bring:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in mechanical industrial engineering
• Strong interest in product innovation, in particular consumer products eg. consumer electronics products / home appliances. Eager to understand technical fundamentals
• Good knowledge in mechanics/heat transfer/flow dynamics and their application
• Good knowledge and experience in using plastics & metals and their processing engineering
• Good knowledge of systems and their interactions
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
• Minimum BSc Mechanical engineering
• Knowledge of NX or other major cad software, DfSS, Ansys
