Job summary

Flex is seeking a Senior Materials Manager based in Kallang, Singapore to direct and coordinate material planning, distribution, inventory control, and purchasing across the site.

You will lead staff, ensure timely and cost-effective material deliveries, interface with customers, project managers and warehouse teams, and drive policy development, vendor relationships, and cycle counting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
• Minimum of 10 years of material and manufacturing experience, including supervision.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning activities across the site.
• Manage materials distribution to the production line.
• Oversee inventory to minimize excess and obsolete stock.
• Ensure timely, cost-effective material delivery while maintaining quality.
• Negotiate with customers to meet expectations and manage staff.
• Coordinate with customers, purchasing, project managers, operations, and warehouse managers.
• Maintain accurate inventory cycle counts and controls.
• Ensure proper shipping and documentation of finished goods.
• Develop and maintain material control policies and procedures.
• Review and approve purchase orders and change notices.
• Review PO claims and contracts for policy conformance.
• Disposition of excess and obsolete materials.
• Travel as required.

Job Summary

The Senior Materials Manager will be based in Kallang, Singapore Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in some or all of the following areas: material planning, distribution, inventory control, material research, purchasing and supply chain management by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do

• Coordinate the planning activities across the site.
• Manages, controls, and directs the activities and staff involved in the distribution of inventory to the production line.
• Manages, controls, and directs staff to achieve Materials profit and loss goals including minimization of excess and obsolete inventory.
• Ensures the timely delivery of materials at the most economical cost, consistent with quality standards, affecting quality by assuring that suspicious material is identified, and that material is handled, stored, and delivered properly.
• Ensures a high degree of customer satisfaction through negotiations of customer expectations and managing and directing staff activities required to meet this expectation.
• Coordinates with customers, purchasing, project managers, operations managers, and warehouse managers.
• In charge of accurate inventory cycle counts, and controls.
• Provides for the proper shipping and documentation of finished goods.
• Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures and material control systems.
• Reviews, plans, and approves purchase orders and change notices.
• Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• In charge of disposition of excess and obsolete materials.
• Travel as required.
