Job summary

AIBEL PTE. LTD. is seeking a highly experienced Lead Material Engineer to oversee material technology across upstream oil and gas projects, including fixed and floating installations.

You will lead material selection, corrosion control, and interface management with equipment suppliers, ensuring project integrity and compliance with standards. The role requires strong communication skills, extensive knowledge of API/ASME/NACE/ISO standards, and the ability to drive risk-based decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Material and/or Corrosion Engineering or equivalent.
• 15+ years in engineering for upstream oil & gas projects as Lead Material Engineer.
• Experience in material selection and corrosion/erosion principles with life cycle cost analysis.
• Design experience in materials selection, protection deliverables and related specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical integrity for Material Technology across project lifecycle.
• Review bids, specs, and material-related inputs across design packages.
• Manage Material Technology interfaces with equipment suppliers and scopes.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, standards, and project quality plans.
• Support QA/QC and verification activities related to material discipline.
