Job summary

Standard Chartered Bank is seeking an experienced Java developer to join the SABRE Market Risk Platform team. You will contribute to scalable, robust components, apply best-practice design, and ensure test coverage while collaborating with global teams.

The role emphasizes ownership, agile delivery, and fast feedback to drive strategic risk and PnL initiatives within Financial Markets.

Qualifications

15+ years hands on development with investment banking IT experience
Strong Java development experience in a performance-focused concurrent environment
Experience in backend service development including API design and integration patterns
Experience with relational databases and time-series data storage for large financial data
Familiar with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and scripting (Bash/Python)
Experience with real-time market data sourcing is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar

Responsibilities

Deliver Java components to internal business users with a systematic architectural approach
Write robust code with high test coverage and adhere to bank standards
Own requirements and development effort as a self-starter
Design scalable solutions and coordinate with Technology teams
Prepare and maintain system documentation and procedures
Provide second-line support during production problems
