Job summary

Rio Tinto in Singapore is seeking a Senior Analyst - Market Analysis to help shape procurement insights, macroeconomic risk assessment and commodity market forecasts used in commercial decision-making.

You will build and maintain models, deliver market intelligence, support trading and negotiations, and collaborate with global teams to provide cross-commodity price forecasts and actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• University degree in either a technical or commercial discipline.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience within a commodity focused MNC.
• Demonstrable experience in a research or analysis focused role.
• Ability to critically analyse data, identify trends and key market drivers.
• High attention to detail and a proactive, curious approach to problem solving.
• Ability to synthesise quantitative and qualitative information into clear insights.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with experience in modelling and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Deepen and broaden understanding of procurement, marine and associated markets.
• Deliver insights to improve commercial outcomes, e.g. price forecasts and scenarios.
• Advise on benchmarks and reference points to support negotiation strategies.
• Develop and maintain regular research using internal/external datasets.
• Collaborate with other Market Analysis teams to coordinate updates and share best practice.
