Job summary

DIRECT SEARCH ASIA PTE. LTD. seeks a Mechanical Superintendent to oversee the mechanical performance, maintenance, and technical condition of vessels in the fleet. You will coordinate with vessel crews, shipyards and contractors on maintenance, repairs, inspections and technical projects.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering, and proven experience managing vessel repairs, dry-docking, and machinery overhauls, with travel to offshore locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Experience as Mechanical Superintendent or similar role.
• Experience with vessel repairs, dry-docking and machinery overhauls.
• Knowledge of class, flag-state, statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Willingness to travel to vessels and offshore sites.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical maintenance and technical condition of assigned vessels.
• Provide technical support to Chief Engineers and onboard teams.
• Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Coordinate dry-docking, repairs, overhauls and refurbishment projects.
• Prepare repair specifications, budgets and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with class, flag-state and statutory requirements.
• Support inspections, audits, surveys and Port State Control.
• Maintain accurate technical records and regular reports to management.
