Job summary

VDL ETG Singapore seeks a Manufacturing Quality Assurance leader to drive in-process and outgoing quality, lead CAPA, and supervise quality inspectors across assembly operations. You will collaborate with engineering to implement robust QC plans and measurement protocols, ensuring customer requirements and internal standards are met.

The role requires a strong background in 8D, FMEA, SPC and GD&T, plus hands-on experience with CMM programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical) or Material Science.
• 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, at least 3 years as a quality leader with supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of 8D, SPC, MSA, FMEA, QFD, 6-sigma, PPAP, and change management.
• Good understanding of First Article Inspection requirements.
• Statistical knowledge and 6-sigma expertise; Black/Green Belt preferred.
• Strong GD&T knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strategic, creative and systemic thinking.
• Excellent leadership and communication across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-process and outgoing QA to meet customer requirements and quality standards.
• Monitor FPY, DPU, OQI and customer metrics to hit targets.
• Analyze quality trends, defects, and non-conformance data for risks and improvements.
• Lead cross-functional quality improvement projects for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Drive root cause investigations using 5 Why, Fishbone, A3 and 8D.
• Lead CAPA and verify/validate actions to prevent recurrence.
• Review and approve quality documentation, inspection records, and COC prior to shipment.
• Investigate and disposition non-conforming materials and workmanship issues.
• Coach inspectors to ensure competency and effective inspection execution.
• Collaborate with Engineering to improve QC plans and inspection criteria.
• Support NPI and product transfers with quality planning and controls.
• Oversee manufacturing QA across in-process, semi-finished, and outgoing quality.
• Develop and optimize CMM measurement programs with LK, Zeiss, Mitutoyo or equivalent.
• Perform dimensional inspections and validate measurement methods and routines.
• Support setup and continuous improvement of inspection processes and instructions.
