Overview

At igloo (parent company of igloohome), we’re building smarter access solutions for homes and businesses worldwide. We’re looking for a Senior Manager, People and Culture to lead recruitment and people initiatives while ensuring strong delivery of our core people practices.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll own recruitment and onboarding, drive culture and engagement initiatives, act as the first point of contact for employees and managers, and oversee the accuracy and compliance of our people operations. You’ll also lead and develop a small People team (2 direct reports), ensuring they deliver effectively while growing their own capabilities.

You’ll be a builder, improving processes and shaping experiences while gaining exposure to strategic people leadership as we scale across Singapore, China, Bali, Cebu, Kuala Lumpur, London and the US.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Partner with managers to define hiring needs and ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment: job postings, sourcing, shortlisting, interviews, and offers - ensure a candidate-first process with strong hiring manager satisfaction and measurable outcomes such as time-to-fill and new hire retention.
  • Oversee onboarding and induction to ensure smooth integration for new hires.

2. People & Culture

  • Partner with team leads and the CEO on engagement initiatives, including pulse surveys, wellness activities, recognition programs and events that strengthen a culture of open communication, collaboration, and inclusion across diverse teams.

3. Employee Relations & Advisory

  • Act as the first point of contact for managers and employees on people matters.
  • Guide leaders on fair employment practices and employee relations cases.
  • Promote a safe, positive, and supportive workplace culture.

4. HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee HR policies, employment contracts, and the employee handbook.
  • Ensure payroll, benefits, and HR records are accurate and reliable (delivered by your team or external providers).
  • Maintain compliance with employment law in offices we operate in; coordinate with local experts for other markets.
  • Pay close attention to detail in policies, documentation, and reporting.

5. Process Improvement & Analytics

  • Review and improve people workflows (recruitment, onboarding, performance, exits).
  • Partner with the People team on compensation & benefits, workforce planning, and analytics projects.
  • Use HR data and key metrics (engagement scores, retention) to provide insights and recommendations to management, driving continuous improvement across people practices.

6. Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop a small People team (2 direct reports).
  • Provide coaching, direction, and career growth opportunities.
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and a high-performance mindset.
Qualifications
  • 6–8 years of HR/People experience, with at least 2 years managing a team.
  • Proven track record in leading recruitment and delivering people programs that scale in fast-growing environments.
  • Detail-oriented, with proven oversight of operations and compliance.
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is a strong advantage
  • Solid knowledge of Singapore labor law; regional exposure a plus.
  • Experience in startups or fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across cultures.
  • A builder’s mindset — willing to be hands-on while improving systems for scale.
