Job summary

PAC DISTRICENTRE PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced technology leader to identify and develop emerging maritime technologies and AI-enabled solutions that drive operational efficiency and new business opportunities.

You will translate client requirements into technical solutions, lead cross-functional projects, and manage end-to-end delivery from feasibility to commercial deployment. Strong background in maritime engineering, AI, data analytics and ROI-focused decision making is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering or related discipline.
• 12+ years of technical/engineering experience in marine/offshore sectors.
• Experience with maritime technology, innovation, and project delivery.
• Practical AI, data analytics, automation, IoT, digital platforms experience.
• Professional certifications in AI, PM, or maritime tech are preferred.
• Sailing experience on LNG/Tanker vessels is a plus.
• Experience collaborating with vendors, partners, clients and cross-functional teams.

Job description

Roles & Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and develop emerging maritime technologies, digital solutions, AI-enabled applications and connected technologies to improve operational efficiency and create new business opportunities.
• Understand client and shipowner requirements and translate them into technical solutions, specifications, proposals and implementation plans.
• Lead/support technology, engineering and innovation projects from concept and feasibility through pilot, implementation and commercial deployment.
• Manage project scope, schedules, resources, budgets, deliverables, risks and reporting.
• Conduct technical and commercial evaluations, including feasibility, cost-benefit analysis, ROI and business cases.
• Work closely with clients, shipowners, internal engineering/operations/commercial teams, technology partners and vendors.
• Lead technology trials, pilots, testing, integration, validation and quality assurance before deployment.
• Support the Commercial & Sales teams through technical consultations, solution development, client presentations and tender submissions.
• Develop technical presentations, feasibility studies, business cases, proposals and management reports.
• Identify opportunities for AI, automation, data analytics, IoT, digitalisation and other emerging technologies within maritime operations.
• Evaluate and support the integration of AI tools and digital platforms to improve decision‑making, productivity, asset performance and customer experience.
• Build relationships with technology providers, startups, universities, industry partners and specialist vendors.
• Develop internal technical capabilities through knowledge sharing, technology awareness and team mentoring.
• Monitor developments across the maritime, marine technology, offshore and related industries and identify potential commercial opportunities.

• Strong understanding of marine engineering, maritime operations and emerging maritime technologies.
• Strong project management, planning, scheduling, resource coordination and reporting skills.
• Ability to analyse complex technical requirements and develop practical, scalable and commercially viable solutions.

• Good understanding of commercial principles, cost evaluation, business cases and ROI.
• Strong knowledge/working experience in digitalisation, AI applications, data analytics, automation, IoT or connected technologies.
• Ability to assess and apply AI and digital technologies to real‑world maritime business and operational challenges.
• Strong client‑facing, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Experience & Education Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 12+ years of relevant technical/engineering experience, preferably within Marine & Offshore, Oil & Gas, Maritime Classification, Ship Management, Shipowner or related maritime industries.
• Experience in maritime technology, digitalization, innovation, technical projects, product development or technology implementation.
• Practical experience in AI, data analytics, automation, IoT, digital platforms or emerging technology applications will be highly advantageous.
• Professional certification in AI / Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Digital Transformation or related technology disciplines is preferred.
• Professional certification in Project Management or Maritime Technology will be an added advantage.
• Previous sailing experience, particularly on LNG/Tanker vessels, will be an added advantage.
• Experience working with technology vendors, industry partners, clients and cross‑functional teams on technical solutions and projects.
