Resorts World at Sentosa Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks a Technical Show Elements Lead to manage a team responsible for the appearance, basic function and finish of show elements, including animation props and themed environments.
The role oversees strategy, quality, rostering, parts procurement, safety, and external collaborations, with cross-functional liaison to UD X and other units. Strong leadership and industry experience are required.
Provide Technical Management for a team of Show Element specialists, whose responsibilities include maintaining appearance, basic function and figure finish of show elements, often adhering to strict IP (Intellectual Property) of popular movies or brands.
Lead all activities of the Show Element team, including strategy, quality, development, rostering, and purchase of necessary parts, safety, chemical storage, equipment and consumables.
Manage in-field maintenance and enhancement where required of animated figures, animated props, vehicle foam & panelling (as necessary) and other show action equipment.
Manage a team that comprises skilled workforce in the areas including but not limited to scenic painting, artistic finish, silicone work, stitching, limited sculpture and basic FRP repairs.
Liaise with Original Equipment Manufacturers to ensure and maintain the best finishes and treatments.
Coordinate and maintain good relationships with relevant vendors and suppliers.
Ensure prompt responses to inputs and feedback from stakeholders including Universal Destinations and Experiences (UDX), Art Directors and other RWS Business Units.
Support capital planning and future asset replacement programs through condition assessments and technical evaluations.
Oversee quality of output, contracting where necessary, and specification conformance from time-to-time.
Understand and actively participate in Workplace Safety and Health responsibilities by following established RWS policies, procedures, training and team member engagement.
Degree, Diploma or equivalent professional qualification in Fine Arts, Scenic Arts, Theatre Production, Industrial Design, Conservation, Applied Arts, Animation, Themed Entertainment, or a related discipline.
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in theme parks, themed entertainment, theatrical production, film production, scenic fabrication, attractions maintenance or related industries.
Demonstrated experience leading teams responsible for show quality, scenic maintenance, artistic restoration or themed environment preservation.
Practical knowledge of coatings, paints, sealants, adhesives, composites and specialized show element materials.
Familiarity with animatronic figure aesthetics, themed environments and attraction show systems is highly desirable.
Experience managing vendors, contractors and refurbishment projects.
Ability to balance operational priorities, project deliverables and resource constraints in a dynamic environment.
Able to work at height and willing to take the rides, from time to time.
Able to perform shift work, including on weekends and public holidays.
