Job summary

Exyte GmbH is seeking a Global Procurement - Sustainability Lead to embed ESG into procurement and subcontracting. You will partner with internal teams and suppliers to advance environmental and social objectives across the supply chain.

You will develop ESG strategies, lead training, and monitor performance using SAP Ariba and EcoVadis. The role requires stakeholder collaboration, risk management, and data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Seven-plus years of experience in procurement, supply chain, sustainability, or ESG roles, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field; ESG or Sustainable Procurement certifications are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of ESG principles, sustainable procurement, responsible sourcing, and regulations such as LKSG and CSDDD.

Responsibilities

• Integrate ESG requirements into procurement strategies and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to strengthen sustainability.
• Ensure compliance with ESG regulations by identifying gaps and implementing due-diligence, reporting, and training measures.
• Serve as the central ESG contact within Procurement and Subcontracting Management to standardize practices and reduce risk.
• Drive ESG improvement initiatives balancing sustainability, efficiency, innovation, and cost.

The Global Procurement - Sustainability Lead (m/f/d) is responsible for integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into procurement and subcontracting processes. The role drives sustainability and ethical sourcing across the supply chain by aligning procurement strategies with ESG objectives and collaborating with internal teams and external partners. Acting as the central ESG point of contact within Procurement and Subcontracting Management, the position leads sustainability initiatives, supports ESG training for procurement teams and suppliers, and continuously improves processes to strengthen responsible supplier partnerships.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

• I`ntegrate ESG requirements into procurement strategies, processes, and procedures by closely collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to strengthen environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
• Ensure compliance with ESG-related regulations (e.g. LKSG, CSDDD) by identifying gaps and implementing due-diligence, reporting, and training measures.
• Serve as the central ESG point of contact within Procurement and Subcontracting Management, ensuring consistent standards and reduced compliance risk.
• Drive ESG improvement initiatives in procurement, balancing sustainability, efficiency, innovation, and cost effectiveness.
• Develop and support ESG training for procurement teams and suppliers to strengthen ESG capabilities across the supply chain.
• Monitor and report ESG performance using tools such as SAP Ariba and EcoVadis to enable data-driven decisions and risk mitigation.
• Partner with business units and leadership to align procurement optimization with corporate ESG objectives and secure stakeholder buy-in.

Show your expertise

• 7+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, sustainability, or ESG-related roles, preferably in a corporate or multinational environment, with ESG consulting experience considered an asset.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, ESG or Sustainable Procurement certifications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ESG principles, sustainable procurement, responsible sourcing, and relevant regulations such as LKSG and CSDDD.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing ESG strategies within procurement, including supplier engagement, risk assessment, due diligence, and compliance monitoring.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and with suppliers to drive sustainability initiatives.
• Experience in developing ESG training and capacity-building programs for procurement teams and suppliers.
• Analytical and results-driven mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Proficiency in procurement and sustainability tools such as SAP, SAP Ariba, and EcoVadis, as well as Excel, PowerPoint, and ESG reporting.
