Job summary

PERSOL is seeking a strategic analytics leader to drive end-to-end delivery of data insights that inform business decisions and organisational strategy. Lead a high-performing team, partner with stakeholders, and translate data into meaningful outcomes.

You will oversee analytics delivery, governance, and collaboration across product, engineering and business units, guiding the team to align analytics outputs with organisational priorities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data analytics, including at least 3 in a leadership role.
• Strong foundation in analytics, statistics, economics or applied mathematics.
• Proven experience in data wrangling, modelling, visualisation and insight generation.
• Familiarity with statistical modelling, forecasting and market research methodologies.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on analytics leader to drive the end-to-end delivery of data insights that inform business decisions and organisational strategy. This role combines leadership, advanced analytics, and stakeholder engagement to unlock the value of data and translate it into meaningful outcomes.

You will lead a high-performing team to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights, while partnering with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics Leadership & Delivery

• Lead the compilation, analysis and reporting of key performance indicators, ensuring timely and accurate insights delivery
• Translate complex datasets into actionable recommendations for business and industry stakeholders
• Oversee data cleaning, ingestion, transformation and analysis across multiple data sources

Strategy & Insight Generation

• Design and drive analytics strategies using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies
• Apply statistical techniques, forecasting models and data visualisation tools to generate insights
• Identify trends and emerging issues to guide strategic decision-making

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

• Partner with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering and business stakeholders
• Coordinate with Whole-of-Government (WOG) agencies and external partners on data initiatives
• Provide advisory on data, analytics and economic impact assessments

Operations & Governance

• Oversee reporting cycles, publications and stakeholder data requests
• Ensure high standards of data governance, quality and integrity
• Manage vendors, contracts and end-to-end data operations

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing analytics team
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous learning
• Guide the team in aligning analytics outputs with organisational priorities

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Expertise

• Minimum 8 years’ experience in data analytics, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Strong foundation in analytics, statistics, economics, applied mathematics or related disciplines
• Proven experience in data wrangling, modelling, visualisation and insight generation
• Familiarity with statistical modelling, forecasting and market research methodologies

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in analytics tools such as Python, R and SQL
• Experience working with large, complex datasets and multiple data sources
• Ability to integrate analytics outputs into dashboards or platforms

Business & Communication

• Strong ability to translate data into business value and strategic recommendations
• Confident communicator with experience engaging senior stakeholders
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams
