Job summary

Jobline Resources Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Unix/Linux Systems Administrator in Singapore to manage user accounts, access controls and kernel level configurations. The role requires strong LDAP/IAM knowledge, virtualization experience (VMware, HPE Service Guard), and solid networking basics.

You will maintain SUSE/Red Hat clusters and ensure security patches are applied regularly. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor in IT/Computer Engineering with 5 years of hands-on Unix experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Information Technology / Computer Engineering with 5 years hands-on Unix server setup, administration, upgrading and support.
• Good knowledge in adding / removing disks from VM’s and extending FS.
• Specialist knowledge in Unix Technologies – RedHat, SUSE Linux & Solaris.
• Good verbal and written communication and able to manage key stakeholders i.e. project team, security, compliance and IT operations.
• Good hands-on experience in parallel filesystems.
• Good understanding of LDAP vs local IAM management
• Good understanding on basic networking technology e.g. TCPIP, ip multipathing, ip aggregation, DNS, DHCP etc.
• Good knowledge in virtualisation/hypervisor technologies on various operating platforms e.g. VMWare, HPE Service Guard cluster
• Good understanding of the various enterprise technologies e.g. SAN, enterprise backup, enterprise monitoring etc.
• Good knowledge in handling NFS file systems and NFS servers

Responsibilities

• Maintaining UNIX user accounts and access managements.
• Good understanding of LDAP vs local IAM management.
• Setting up repositories and maintaining.
• Troubleshooting Linux-based systems on issues and failures with good grasp of the Linux command line
• Testing new Open Source software systems should the need arise to solve particular problems
• Setting up and maintaining SUSE and Red hat Clusters with DRBD, Stonith and corosync
• Troubleshooting performance issues
• Creating custom image based on the security requirements
• Planning and executing security patches periodically
• Maintaining cloud storage based on different requirements
