Job summary

Millennium Technology Services in Singapore seeks an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to lead setup, backup, patching, and monitoring of enterprise infrastructure. You will troubleshoot performance issues, design scalable system architectures, and ensure audit-compliant operations.

Responsibilities include DR planning, mentoring junior staff, and delivering regular performance reports, with on-call support for urgent production issues.

Qualifications

• Degree holder in information technology, computer science or related discipline.
• 5+ years working experience in Redhat Linux 8/9 system administration.
• Solid knowledge of technical infrastructure and system architecture design.
• Hands-on experience with VMware, IBM GPFS, Veritas Infoscale, Redhat GFS, Redhat Cluster Suite and middleware products (Apache, Nginx, JBOSS EAP, Tomcat, WebSphere, MQSeries).
• Proficiency in shell scripting, Bigfix and Ansible.
• Experience in distributed system design and administration is a plus.
• Experience in system performance monitoring and tuning.
• Willing to work outside office hours for urgent production issues.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills in Chinese and English; Mandarin a plus.
• Familiarity with EOS, patch management and lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of audit and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform Linux system administration including setup, backup, software installation, patch upgrades, system monitoring and health checks.
• Troubleshoot and optimize system performance; manage capacity monitoring on systems and applications.
• Provide architectural design consultancy to project teams.
• Revise technical guidelines to comply with internal IT audit regulations.
• Act as a technical advisor for junior system administrators.
• Generate and deliver system performance reports.
• Oversee routine operational tasks to ensure timely completion.
• Prepare and maintain disaster recovery failover procedures and participate in DR drills.
• Coordinate infrastructure changes related to network deployments or upgrades.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive and corrective actions.
