Job summary

QBE Insurance Singapore is hiring for an experienced underwriting leader responsible for P&L across multiple product lines including Marine, Property and Engineering. You will manage relationships with intermediaries and brokers, drive product development, pricing strategy and profitability while developing talent and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage large and complex insurance portfolios with accountability for underwriting profitability and growth.
• Strong technical underwriting expertise across Liability lines.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams.
• Established relationships within the Singapore insurance market and broker community would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for underwriting activities and P&L responsibility of the products function.
• Manage UW relationships with intermediaries and business partners in underwriting service delivery, product development and innovation.
• Manage overall business relationship with MTPs and brokers in the area of GWP growth.
• Ensure ongoing personal technical development to achieve ideal DAL state.
• Support the divisional underwriting function to attract, recruit, develop and retain talent.
• Evaluate risk for new business and renewals in accordance with standards to ensure profitable growth.
• Keep abreast of market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness.
• Perform underwriting activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to underwriting standards to minimize risks and maximize efficiency.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers, intermediaries and internal stakeholders.
• Build knowledge of current legislation, underwriting acceptance levels, systems and guidelines.
• Contribute to channel strategic plans and motivate the team with strong leadership.
