Job summary

Bitdeer is seeking a senior in-house lawyer to draft, review and negotiate a range of data center agreements across Singapore, Malaysia and SE Asia. You will support project teams, manage external counsel, and help standardize contracting processes.

You will contribute to risk-aware commercial decisions in a fast-growing tech environment and must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Preferred education: law degree from an accredited school.
• Admission to the Singapore or Malaysia Bar is preferred.
• Strong drafting and negotiation capabilities across complex agreements.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements for data centers in Singapore, Malaysia and SE Asia.
• Lead contract negotiations with vendors, landlords, and service providers while balancing risk and business needs.
• Provide practical legal support to project, procurement and operations teams.
• Develop templates, playbooks and standard negotiating positions.
• Monitor regulatory developments in Singapore and Malaysia and coordinate with external counsel.

What you will be responsible for:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements supporting the development, construction, and operation of data centers in Singapore, Malaysia, and the wider Southeast Asia region, including procurement and equipment supply agreements, EPC and construction contracts, land and facility leases, services agreements, colocation agreements, and interconnection arrangements.




• Lead and manage contract negotiations with vendors, contractors, landlords, customers, and service providers, balancing commercial objectives against legal, regulatory, and operational risk.




• Provide practical, business-oriented legal support to project, construction, procurement, and operations teams on contractual and regulatory matters across the full data center lifecycle.




• Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and standard negotiating positions to drive consistency and faster turnaround across the contracting process.




• Conduct legal research, monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments in Singapore and Malaysia, identify and help mitigate potential legal and compliance risks, and coordinate with and manage external counsel and other service providers as needed.

How you will stand out:

• Preferred Education Background: Law degree (LL.B., J.D., or equivalent) from an accredited law school




• 8+ years of post-qualification legal experience, ideally combining a leading law firm and an in-house corporate legal department.




• Proven ability to independently draft, review, and lead negotiations on a broad range of complex commercial agreements.




• Familiarity with Singapore and/or Malaysia legal and regulatory requirements; admission to the Singapore or Malaysia Bar, or another relevant common law jurisdiction, is preferred.




• Hands-on experience with data center, infrastructure, construction/EPC, real estate and leasing, energy, procurement, or technology and outsourcing transactions is strongly preferred.




• Strong commercial judgment, with the ability to balance legal risk against business objectives.




• Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.




• Strong spoken and written communication skills, stakeholder-management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.




• Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
