Job summary

Zenith Infotech (S) PTE LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced backend engineer to translate business requirements into precise technical specifications and to design, develop and maintain high-volume backend systems for an Automatic Fare Collection platform.

You will own SDLC deliverables, collaborate with business users and tech teams, provide production support, and contribute to modernization efforts including containerization and microservices architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise software development.
• Proven experience delivering at least 1 full SDLC with documentation.
• Strong experience in Java/JEE, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on with web application development, database interfacing using JDBC and SQL.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.
• Experience in Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with software modernization, containerization, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with message queues. Solace experience preferred.
• Experience in database design, development, and performance tuning.
• Exposure to Cloud Computing, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS services such as ECS Fargate, RDS, and Lambda is an advantage.
• Domain experience in Automatic Fare Collection systems is an advantage.
• Knowledge of EMV and PCI DSS standards is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-volume, high-performance backend systems for an Automatic Fare Collection platform.
• Produce and maintain SDLC deliverables including Business Rules, SRS, Architecture Documents, Design Specs, Interface Specs, Test Plans, O&M Manuals, and Training Manuals.
• Provide day-to-day application support and troubleshooting in production.
• Liaise with business users, stakeholders, and back-office teams on requirements, design, and UAT.
• Collaborate with development teams to deliver scalable, reliable software solutions.
• Contribute to software modernization efforts including containerization and migration to microservices.
