Job summary

NETWORK FOR ELECTRONIC TRANSFERS (SINGAPORE) PTE LTD is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot for the UPOS & DA portfolio. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable payment solutions.

The ideal candidate has strong Java backend expertise, experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, and database technologies, and familiarity with PCI-DSS and high-volume payment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 6–8 years of relevant application development experience and senior developer/technical lead capacity.
• Strong proficiency in Java 17+ and Spring Framework/Spring Boot.
• Experience designing microservices, RESTful APIs, distributed apps, and SOA.
• Hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL), Solace JMS, SSL/TLS, and SQL databases.
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS, secure coding, and payment system exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis, design, estimation, development planning, and implementation for UPOS & DA initiatives.
• Translate requirements into functional/technical specs meeting security and performance needs.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable backend apps using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs.
• Develop new features and reusable components per specs, standards, and security policies.
• Contribute to modernization and deployment to RHEL, containers, or cloud environments.
• Review architecture, code, and DB design for performance and reliability.
• Provide guidance, code reviews, and promote best practices within the team.
• Create technical documentation: designs, specs, interfaces, tests, and deployment steps.
• Support testing, integrations, releases, and production verification.
