Job summary

NETWORK FOR ELECTRONIC TRANSFERS (SINGAPORE) PTE LTD is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot for the UPOS & DA portfolio. The role involves delivering secure, scalable, low-latency services and collaborating with product owners, QA, DevOps, cybersecurity, and production support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6 to 8 years of relevant application development experience, including hands-on involvement across the full software development lifecycle and senior developer/technical lead exposure.
• Strong proficiency in Java 17 or later, server-side Java technologies, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and developing microservices, RESTful APIs, web services, distributed applications, and SOA.
• Hands-on experience with Linux/RHEL, Spring Boot, Solace JMS, MySQL/PostgreSQL, SSL/TLS, and JSON-based interfaces.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, log analysis, production deployment, and incident resolution.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in requirement analysis, solution design, technical estimation, development planning, and implementation for UPOS & DA applications.
• Translate business requirements into functional and technical specs meeting security, performance, and operational needs.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and databases.
• Develop new features and reusable components following standards and secure development practices.
• Contribute to modernization and deployment across container or cloud environments.
• Review architecture, code, and database design to ensure quality, performance, and reliability.
• Provide guidance to developers and promote best practices within the team.
• Maintain technical documentation including designs, specs, and deployment procedures.
• Support testing, integration, system, and user acceptance testing, and production deployments.
