Siltronic Silicon Wafer Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to design, implement, and optimize Oracle database systems for high availability and data integrity. You will manage 24/7 Level 2 support for production databases across lines and act as SME for database incidents.
The role covers monitoring, backups, patching, performance tuning, and collaboration with Run teams to ensure operational continuity and regulatory compliance.
An Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, security, and performance optimization of Oracle database systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and data integrity. The role provides 24/7 Level 2 support for Oracle databases supporting both the 200MM and 300MM production lines, serving as the subject matter expert (SME) for database-related operations and incidents. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving critical database issues, supporting the Run team, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to minimize business disruption and maintain operational continuity.
Monitor database health, availability, performance, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools.
Investigate and resolve database alerts, incidents, and performance bottlenecks.
Participate in 24x7 on-call support and incident response activities.
Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software and tools.
Create and maintain database storage structures (table spaces, objects, indexes).
Review, plan, and execute database changes in accordance with IT change management procedures.
Support application deployments, database releases, and schema migrations.
Assess risks and develop rollback plans for production changes.
Conduct periodic failover, switchover, backup, and disaster recovery tests
Identify, test, and implement Oracle patches, updates, and service packs.
Support database audit, security reviews, and compliance requirements.
Maintain database administration documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
Ensure adherence to company security and data retention policies.
Implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data from loss.
Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
Experience in Oracle Database Administration.
Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
Knowledge of Oracle architecture, backup & recovery, and performance tuning.
Working knowledge of Linux/Unix, filesystem management, and Cron jobs.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
