You will ensure the availability, performance, security, and reliability of Oracle database environments that support enterprise and manufacturing systems. You will administer, monitor, and optimize databases; handle incidents and on-call rotations; install, upgrade, patch; support deployments and schema changes; perform backups, DR testing, and root cause analysis; and maintain

• Experience administering Oracle databases in production.
• Strong SQL & PL/SQL skills.
• Understanding Oracle architecture, performance tuning, backup & recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Experience in Linux/Unix environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and respond to business-critical incidents.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and optimize Oracle database environments.
• Investigate and resolve database incidents, alerts, and performance issues.
• Provide Level 2 operational support, including participation in 24/7 on-call rotations.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle databases.
• Support application deployments, database releases, and schema changes.
• Plan and execute database changes in line with change management processes.
• Perform backup, recovery, failover, and disaster recovery testing activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to improve system reliability.
• Ensure compliance with security, audit, and governance requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and best practices.

About the Role

My client is a well-established firm within the Semiconductor industry, and they are looking for a skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join their IT team and support mission-critical enterprise and manufacturing systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of Oracle database environments while providing operational support and driving continuous improvements.
