Job summary

World Wide Technology is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to lead and deliver complex ATM solution infrastructure. You will manage network devices, servers, storage, and the SOE deployment across projects and bids.

You will revise architectures, create BOM/LoS, and coordinate with hardware deployment, integration, and cross-functional teams to ensure robust, scalable infrastructure solutions. Fluency in English and senior stakeholder engagement are essential.

Qualifications

  • Design, delivery, and operations of complex server/storage infrastructure and networks.
  • Strong virtualization, compute, storage, and backup/recovery knowledge.
  • Experience with modern OS (Linux, Windows) and hardening practices.
  • Proficiency in automation and IaC (Ansible, Terraform) with CI/CD experience.

Responsibilities

  • Revise solution architecture drawings, BoM/LoS, and interfaces at project start.
  • Create/update documentation for network integration and design verification.
  • Define equipment configuration for ATM solutions and coordinate with deployment teams.
  • Load, configure, validate, and hand over equipment to software integration.
  • Support configuration changes and participate in design reviews.
  • Provide customer training and progress updates to management.
  • Collaborate across network, cyber, and systems disciplines for multi-discipline solutions.
  • Promote lean/Agile practices and innovation in infrastructure projects.

Job description

In this role you will work in an international multidisciplinary team focused on leading and delivering the infrastructure for a complex ATM solution.

The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the provision of the infrastructure platform: network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls) and compute equipment (servers and workstations), including the deployment of the SOE (Standard Operating Environment) for the respective project and/or bid activity.

Project Support:
  • Revising solution architecture drawings and diagrams, cost templates (devis), the List of Supplies (LoS) / Bill of Materials (BoM), and interfaces at the start of the project.
  • Create and/or update network integration engineer contributions to the Solution Specification and Design documentation, Network Acceptance Test Procedures, and other associated network integration documents.
  • Reviewing definition documents, solution specifications, design documentation, acceptance test procedures and other associated documentation to align with project objectives, and participating in the product integration and verification phases
  • Defining equipment configuration for the ATM solution(s) and coordinating with Hardware Deployment and Integration management for the assembly of the ATM system. Also interface with Tools Engineering, Customer Service and Site Services departments where necessary to accomplish this task.
  • Load, configure, validate, and hand over equipment to Software Integration in the factory and on customer sites.
  • Support configuration changes to system platforms in factory and customer sites.
  • Attend Design Reviews with customers.
  • Provide customer training.
  • Identify risks at solution architecture level and propose where possible alternate validated solutions.
  • Provide system and networking expertise useful in the design.
  • Follow and contribute to the development and enhancement of engineering processes.
Bid Support:
  • Creation and peer review of the system Architecture Diagrams and List of Supplies (LoS) / Bill of Materials (BoM).
  • Knowledge Capitalisation: Ensure best practice sharing and capitalisation by curating technical documentation, lessons learned, and case studies related to server and storage infrastructure.
  • Business Competitiveness: Support efficiency initiatives (e.g., automation, standardisation) to improve cost, quality, and delivery of infrastructure solutions.
  • Lean & Agile Adoption: Promote Lean and Agile practices within infrastructure projects, particularly for automation, platform deployment and continuous improvement.
  • Emerging Tech: Actively contribute in the adoption of modern technologies in infrastructure—such as AI-driven monitoring, predictive analytics, hybrid cloud, hyperconverged infrastructure, and automation platforms.
  • Cost Model Management: Contribute towards the cost model for infrastructure implementation, considering server, storage, and platform TCO.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration with other disciplines (network, cybersecurity, systems engineering) to design multi-discipline solutions with tangible value.
  • Innovation: Nurture a culture that embraces innovation, entrepreneurship, and continuous technical improvement.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, ICT or related discipline
  • Postgraduate studies in Systems Engineering (Desirable)
  • Proven experience in the design, delivery, and operations of complex, mission-critical server/storage infrastructure (including virtualization, compute platforms, storage arrays, backup/recovery, and automation) and networks (7+ years)
  • Possesses a solid foundation in basic networking concepts, including an understanding of switching and routing principles.
  • Deep expertise in modern server operating systems (e.g., Linux/RHEL, Windows Server), server hardening, virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, KVM), and container environments (OpenShift, Kubernetes)
  • Broad experience in infrastructure architecture/design, including physical/virtual servers, SAN/NAS storage solutions, data centre server/storage deployment, and lifecycle management
  • Proficient in infrastructure automation—Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and automation scripting for infrastructure operations
  • Experience in product/project development under both traditional and agile/iterative lifecycle methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of hardware integration and testing processes
  • Practical experience of validation and integration of hardware components on large, complex, software-based systems
  • Provide timely progress updates to manager
  • Demonstrable success in delivering outcomes in multidisciplinary, multicultural environments
  • Exposure to Safety, Security and Human Factors as applied to data centre and infrastructure environments
  • Familiarity with cost modelling and TCO analysis for server/storage solutions
  • Experience developing high-performing teams and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Excellent judgment, independent decision making, and accountability
  • Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders with differing objectives
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral) in English
  • Positive, motivating leadership style, open to managing complexity and driving change
  • Good knowledge of Air Traffic Management systems
  • French Literacy
