Job summary

Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) is seeking personnel to conduct hydrographic surveys in Singapore waters, ensuring safe navigation. The role involves operating and maintaining hydrographic equipment, processing data with QA, and preparing official survey reports.

Candidate must hold relevant certifications in engineering, surveying, nautical studies, IT, geomatics or geospatial sciences and be able to work aboard survey vessels. In-house training is provided.

Qualifications

• Certification in Engineering, Surveying, Nautical Studies, Information Technology, Geomatics or Geospatial Sciences.
• Independent, meticulous with attention to detail and good team player.
• Willingness to embark/disembark vessels and work aboard survey ships.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrographic surveys in Singapore waters following IHO S-44 standards.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain hydrographic equipment.
• Inform navigational safety decisions using survey data.
• Process and QA survey data and prepare survey reports.
• Explore new technologies to support surveys (e.g., uncrewed platforms, AI).
• Procure hydrographic survey equipment and services.
• Liaise with stakeholders and manage vendors.
• Perform admin tasks and contribute to SOP/ISO documents.
