Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to manage assigned HVAC projects, plan and execute design work, and coordinate with sales, customers, and contractors.

The role focuses on delivering profitable, high‑quality projects while maintaining customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has 7–10 years of HVAC design experience, strong fundamentals, and hands-on CAD software proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in HVAC system design, including chilled water/condenser systems.
• Strong understanding of HVAC fundamentals, equipment selection, and controls integration.
• Hands-on proficiency in HVAC design software (Revit, AutoCAD).
• Familiarity with hydraulic calculations and pump head computations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and equipment specifications.
• Perform HVAC load calculations and system design for water-based HVAC systems.
• Prepare technical proposals, BOM, equipment selections, and tender documentation.
• Ensure HVAC designs comply with ASHRAE standards, codes, and guidelines.
• Coordinate with internal teams to support pre‑sales and project execution.
• Review and validate engineering designs from consultants, contractors, and partners.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.
• Conduct site assessments, attend technical meetings, and support design reviews.
• Support troubleshooting and commissioning activities for HVAC and hydronic systems.
• Meet with clients and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements.
• Review and understand mechanical designs using CAD/CAM/3D CAD programs.
