Job summary

Cognex Corporation in Singapore seeks a Senior Commodity Specialist to drive global sourcing and category strategies, leading supplier negotiations, contract execution, and cross-functional initiatives. You will manage supplier relationships and support continuous improvement across the global supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience in related field.
• 5-15 years of work experience in sourcing or supply chain management.
• Experience managing suppliers as a commodity engineer/specialist for at least 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Develop global category strategies with improvement plans for cost, quality, service, lead time and supply security.
• Negotiate pricing with key suppliers and manage price with suppliers.
• Collaborate with legal to negotiate and execute contracts with suppliers.
• Lead cross-functional commodity/category teams and drive the sourcing process.
• Manage supplier selection process and setup contract manufacturers in Cognex portfolio.
• Provide input on supplier management programs and tools and participate in initiatives.
• Conduct periodic business reviews with key suppliers and manage supplier relationships.
• Provide leadership to engineering on supplier technology roadmaps for components.
