Job summary

SBSTransit Ltd is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications that underpin SBS Transit’s operations. You will collaborate with business users, infrastructure, data teams, and vendors to deliver secure, scalable software solutions across platforms.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, cloud technologies, DevOps, automation and responsible use of AI-assisted tools to enhance development while upholding code quality and security standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise software development and technical solution implementation.
• Experience mentoring junior developers and driving engineering best practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms, DevOps, enterprise integrations and modern software engineering practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain enterprise applications using .NET, Java and modern web technologies.
• Build secure, scalable and maintainable applications following software engineering best practices.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, reusable services and enterprise integrations.
• Optimise and maintain SQL databases including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Produce clean, maintainable and well-documented code supported by unit testing, code reviews and automated testing.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or equivalent DevOps platforms.
• Develop automation scripts and reusable engineering components to improve software delivery.
• Support containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes where applicable.
• Apply DevSecOps and secure software engineering practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
