Job summary

ST Engineering Advanced Networks & Sensors Pte Ltd is seeking a Senior / FPGA Firmware Engineer to contribute to waveform-centric systems for defence and security. You will join an engineering team delivering end-to-end firmware across FPGA, DSP, RF, and Datapath components, ensuring reliability and performance.

You will collaborate with Solution Architects, Project Managers, and Technical Leads to develop, test, and deploy firmware for mission-critical applications in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Strong experience in FPGA firmware development using VHDL/Verilog.
• Embedded firmware development in C/C++.
• Understanding of DSP fundamentals, waveform processing chains, and FPGA/DSP or HW/SW interfaces.
• RTL simulation, validation, and testbench development.
• Experience debugging HW/FW/SW integration issues using JTAG, logic analyzers, and RF test equipment.
• Able to analyses performance, timing constraints, and Datapath behavior with guidance where required.
• Demonstrates structured problem-solving skills with clear technical documentation.
• Singaporean only.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain FPGA firmware modules, waveform layers, and device drivers.
• Execute feature development, bug fixes, profiling, and performance optimization activities.
• Develop unit tests, integration tests, and RTL simulations to ensure firmware correctness and stability.
• Perform firmware bring‑up, integration, and validation on new or modified hardware variants.
• Debug and resolve HW/FW/SW integration issues across FPGA, DSP, RF, and system interfaces.
• Contribute to firmware and Datapath design in alignment with the overall system and waveform architecture.
• Work closely with DSP, FPGA, RF, and System Engineering teams to support system‑level integration.
• Participate in RTL and design reviews, providing implementation feedback and technical input.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation covering interfaces, protocols, data structures, and performance results.
• Provide technical guidance and code review support to junior engineers where applicable.

As a Senior / FPGA Firmware Engineer, you will support customers in the Defence sector by contributing to the development and delivery of waveform centric systems that enhance Singapore’s Defence and security capabilities. Working closely with Solution Architects, Project Managers, and Technical Leads, you will be part of an engineering team involved in the development, integration, testing, and deployment of waveform processing solutions as part of end-to-end project execution.
