Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Engineer (Maintenance) to provide field-based technical support for plant utilities and mechanical maintenance in a GMP manufacturing environment. The role involves equipment walkdowns, troubleshooting, and coordinating contractors to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable maintenance execution.

You will work with cross‑functional teams to improve maintenance plans, develop job instructions, and enhance preventive maintenance programs based on field feedback.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering and/or 6 years of directly related experience OR
• High School Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering / GED and 8 years of directly related experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of utilities, mechanical maintenance, maintenance execution, and equipment troubleshooting in a GMP manufacturing environment.
• Ability to provide technical oversight, influence maintenance execution, and guide technicians and contractors without direct people‑management accountability.

Responsibilities

• Provide field‑based technical oversight for utilities and mechanical maintenance activities, including equipment walkdowns and live troubleshooting.
• Drive maintenance and improvement activities by prioritizing field issues and verifying job completion quality.
• Collaborate with System Owners to perform field troubleshooting and improve reliability based on feedback.
• Coordinate and oversee contractors and vendors during field execution, including job scope confirmation and post‑work verification.
