Job summary

Dyson is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Virtual Engineering team. You will perform static, dynamic, structural and thermal–mechanical analyses to support design decisions and optimize products before prototyping.

You will collaborate with design engineers across regions, ensure timely handovers, and drive risk assessment and robustness through advanced simulation methods and data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
• 5+ years in mechanical product analysis & development, preferably consumer electronics.
• Proficient with CAD/CAE tools (ANSYS, Moldflow, Abaqus) and FEA methods.
• Solid understanding of structural analysis, modal/vibration analysis and solid mechanics.
• Experience with data acquisition tools (MATLAB, LabVIEW) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform static, dynamic, structural, and thermal–mechanical analysis with minimal supervision.
• Drive design decisions through credible simulation; ensure deliverables at all design stages.
• Collaborate with design engineers and stakeholders; hand over projects from UK to SEA per Dyson processes.
• Identify and mitigate risks; promote best practices for robust mechanical design.
