Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a Principal Engineer focused on etch to lead development, optimization, and sustenance of advanced etch processes in wafer fabrication. You will drive SOPs, FMEA, and cross-functional collaboration with integration teams and external partners.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years of etch experience, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication to mentor junior engineers and contribute to IP through patents.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Chemical / Materials Science Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of wafer fabrication industry experience with a strong focus on etch.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good analytical and project management abilities.
• Familiar with SPC, DOE & FMEA methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify etch process formulations, methods, and tool controls to meet quality standards.
• Lead recipe creation, maintenance, and optimization for etch tools to ensure accurate process monitoring and improved recipe quality.
• Drive Continuous Improvement Plans (CIPs) to enhance process performance and productivity.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for benchmarking and cross-learning initiatives.
