Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience leading qualification, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing or test environment.
• Proficiency in data analysis and automation tools such as Excel, VBA, Python, or equivalent platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the evaluation and qualification of new test scripts, setups, test heads, equipment, and methods, ensuring data accuracy, repeatability, and correlation.
• Drive troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for test discrepancies, customer failures, and internal returns through to closure.
• Provide technical leadership for new product qualification and production ramp, communicating technical risks, findings, and recommendations to local and global teams.
• Lead improvement projects focused on test quality, capacity, cycle time, and cost while translating technical findings into practical solutions.
• Serve as the technical owner for assigned test platforms, methods, or products, including test-head inventory, usage, disposition, and ordering.
• Maintain test procedures, control plans, methods, and technical documentation to support consistent and reliable execution.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, support knowledge transfer, and contribute to the development of team capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, quality management, ESD, 5S, and cleanroom requirements, while supporting other responsibilities assigned by management.

About Our Group

The RPE department evaluates the electrical performance of magnetic media and recording heads using component-level test platforms, including the VXI-Based Testing System (VTS) and Reduced Footprint Spin Stand (RFS).

Our team provides process and design feedback to support product development, launch activities, and mass production. We also characterize performance distributions, develop transfer functions, investigate electrical HDD failures, and screen electrical defects associated with the magnetic sputtering process.

About The Role - You Will

Your Experience Includes

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience leading qualification, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing or test environment.
• Strong knowledge of test validation, measurement systems, statistical analysis, and engineering problem-solving methodologies.
• Proficiency in data analysis and automation tools such as Excel, VBA, Python, or equivalent platforms.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment, data collection, technical reporting, and cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to work in a cleanroom environment and support overtime when required.

Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations.
