GovTech is seeking a Senior Planner for the Land Planning Branch to shape Singapore's energy infrastructure strategy and safeguard critical land, sea, and underground space.
You will lead or support long‑term planning, master studies, and feasibility work across electricity and gas systems, collaborating with government agencies, licensees, and consultants to deliver integrated, timely solutions.
The Land Planning Branch (LPB) plays a key role in shaping and safeguarding Singapore's future energy infrastructure to support long-term energy security, economic growth and the energy transition. You will lead or support the strategic planning, development and safeguarding of land, sea space, underground corridors and associated infrastructure required for Singapore's evolving energy system. This includes electricity imports, power generation, gas infrastructure, substations, and emerging low-carbon energy technologies. You will work closely with government agencies, energy licensees, consultants, and industry stakeholders to translate future energy needs into land needs, infrastructure and implementation plans, ensuring that critical energy infrastructure can be delivered in a timely and coordinated manner.
Job Responsibilities
Requirements Education in Engineering, Urban Planning, Infrastructure Planning, Environmental Engineering, Geography, Real Estate, Public Policy or a related discipline would be preferred Experience in one or more of the following areas is a bonus: Energy infrastructure planning Electricity generation, transmission or distribution systems Electricity imports or cross‑border infrastructure Gas infrastructure planning Utilities planning Land use planning Infrastructure development or project planning Environmental, regulatory or public sector planning Feasibility studies and master planning Strong analytical, problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills. Ability to analyse complex technical, planning and policy issues and develop practical recommendations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Self‑driven, adaptable and able to manage multiple workstreams in a dynamic environment.
