HEPTAGON PHOTONICS PTE. LTD. is seeking a mechanically minded engineer to support polymer molding processes for lens-to-wafer scale, using high-end CNC step-and-repeat equipment, and to prepare alignment, dispensing, and inspection recipes.

The role emphasizes in-process inspections, data analysis with Smartscope and profilers, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration with design, project management, and machine vendors.

Qualifications

• Familiar with data processing, programming, or metrology on precision instruments.
• Programming skills (Excel macros, Matlab, Python) preferred for data analysis.
• 1–3 years experience preferred; fresh graduates with strong skills welcome.
• Knowledge of polymer, curing, and machining; strong presentation and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Mold polymers from lens to wafer level using CNC step and repeat equipment; set up alignment, dispensing, and inspection recipes.
• Perform in-process inspections and data analysis on moulded components.
• Lead DFM initiatives and explore new technologies; improve existing processes.
• Collaborate with product designers, project managers, and machine vendors to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Plan projects with documentation and knowledge transfer.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Polymer molding from singlet/array lens to wafer level, based on high end CNC based step and repeat equipment, including setup of alignment recipe,dispensing recipe, and inspection recipe.
• Perform in-process inspections and data analysis on moulded components based on CNC smart scope and other contact/non-contact profilers.
• Improve existing process, respond timely to technical enquiries, lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives, with strong initiatives to explore new technologies.
• Work closely with product designer on optimization of molding process, project manager on task delivery, and machine vendor on potential upgrading, to improve process efficiency and accuracy.
• Project and task planning, with accurate/timely documentation of task progress, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer.

Job Requirements

• Familiarity with one of the following – Data processing, programming, metrology on precision measuring instruments (Smartscope, contact/non-contact profiler, etc.), molding, optimizations of chemical, or MEMS process / equipment, material characterization.
• Programming skills strongly preferred as used in data analysis, like macro of Excel, Matlab, Python, etc., with strong interests on computer and data (or math).
• 1~3 years of work experiences preferred. Freshgraduates are welcome, if with strong experiences and skills.
• Knowledge on polymer and curing, mechanical machining. Good presentation/writing/analysis skills on PowerPoint / Word / Excel.
• Team player who can work effectively with diverse colleagues across departments.
• Proactive, analytical, and adaptable, with strong attention to detail, good observation and strong problem-solving and coordination abilities in cross-functional settings.
• Familiar with 6 sigma of statistical process control.
• Mindset of R&D.
