Job summary

Lonza Group in Singapore Tuas is recruiting for a site-based maintenance engineer to oversee daily maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and ensure GMP and EHS compliance. You will analyze data to implement rapid, effective solutions and support continuous improvement initiatives for asset reliability.

The role requires an engineering degree (mechanical preferred) with GMP experience and on-call availability.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
• GMP experience required.
• Able to be on-call for machine breakdowns.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily routine and repair work orders to minimize disruption to production schedule.
• Respond on-call for service breakdown and ensure routine maintenance meets GMP and EHS requirements.
• Analyze data to develop engineering solutions and resolve problems quickly.
• Perform equipment breakdown troubleshooting with maintenance engineers.
• Ensure audit readiness by complying with GMP/regulatory standards.
• Review executed maintenance work orders in SAP for GMP documentation and full completion.
• Conduct deviation investigations and root-cause analysis for equipment issues and change controls.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance asset reliability and maintenance excellence.

Job description

This is a fully site‑based role at Singapore Tuas. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What you'll do:

• Supervise daily routine and repair work orders as assigned to enable smooth handover and minimize disruption to production schedule.
• Respond on‑call for service breakdown and ensure all routine maintenance works are duly carried out as scheduled and in compliance with Engineering standards and procedures and GMP and meet EHS requirement.
• Analyze and interpret data to develop solutions based on engineering knowledge and field experience to resolve problems quickly and effectively
• Perform equipment related breakdown/ failure troubleshooting/ recovery with maintenance Associate Engineer.
• Ensure audit readiness by complying with effective standards, regulatory/statutory and cGMP requirement to prevent major compliance observation.
• Perform reviewing of executed maintenance work order in SAP to ensure all GMP documentation related to maintenance activities is completed accurately and processed to full completion.
• Perform deviation investigation, root cause analysis for equipment breakdowns, addressing any technical enquiries and closing Change Control Tasks.
• Drive continuous improvement initiative to promote asset reliability and maintenance excellent to enhance equipment/ system/ process robustness.
