GlobalFoundries seeks a Senior Engineer in Process Integration & Yield to identify and resolve yield-related issues across semiconductor manufacturing. Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Microelectronics, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Experience in process integration, yield improvement, defect analysis, or semiconductor process engineering preferred.
  • Familiarity with SPC, design rule development, and test structure characterization.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve process integration issues, yield losses, and related manufacturing challenges.
  • Perform project management activities and data analysis to support process improvement and yield enhancement initiatives.
  • Develop custom or derivative process solutions to meet customer and business requirements.
  • Support new product and technology introductions through module characterization and design rule development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify defect sources, reduce defectivity, and resolve technical and yield-related concerns.
  • Develop and improve test structures that enable fast, effective, and rigorous process characterization.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement Plans (CIP) to achieve organizational goals related to yield, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Build and maintain defect source libraries and develop equipment defect fingerprinting methodologies to accelerate root cause analysis.
  • Conduct product and process partitioning studies for yield and defect characterization to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are properly documented, with failure modes assessed and appropriate detection and mitigation controls established.
  • Monitor process performance and recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve process stability and yield performance.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and technology development teams on assigned projects and initiatives.
  • Support additional projects, assignments, and cross-functional activities as required by the organization.

Introduction

The Senior Engineer, Process Integration & Yield is responsible for identifying, resolving, and improving process integration, defect, and yield-related issues across semiconductor manufacturing processes. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to enhance yield performance, drive continuous improvement initiatives, support new product introductions, and develop robust methodologies for process characterization and defect reduction. The successful candidate will leverage data analysis, project management, and technical problem-solving skills to improve manufacturing efficiency, process capability, and product quality.

  • Experience driving continuous improvement projects focused on yield, quality, productivity, or cost reduction.
  • Knowledge of defect source characterization, defect fingerprinting methodologies, and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Experience supporting technology development, process qualification, and new product introductions.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve technical and manufacturing challenges.
