Job summary

ST Engineering Info-security in Singapore seeks a Software System Architect to lead the architecture, design and development of embedded software and security products. You will define system architectures for high-performance security solutions, guide technical decisions and mentor teams to deliver production-ready software.

The role emphasizes embedded Linux platforms (Yocto/PetaLinux), RTOS or bare-metal, cybersecurity best practices and collaboration with hardware, software and product teams

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of embedded systems and software design experience.
• Proven experience leading embedded software architecture and system integration for complex products.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++, Rust, Python and Bash scripting.
• Experience with embedded Linux platforms, Yocto or PetaLinux preferred.
• Understanding of hardware-software integration, networking and security fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the end-to-end software architecture for embedded and application-level systems.
• Translate product requirements into scalable, secure, maintainable software architectures.
• Define system interfaces, integration strategies and technical roadmaps across hardware and software domains.
• Develop architectural specifications, design standards and technical implementation guidelines.
• Evaluate technologies and design options to balance performance, security, cost and maintainability.
• Design, develop, integrate and validate embedded software and firmware components.
• Lead the design and development of application-level software and supporting tools where required.
• Oversee system integration, performance tuning and reliability testing across hardware and software components.
• Support software release management and preparation of production-ready firmware and software builds.
• Mentor software engineers and conduct architecture/design/code reviews to ensure quality.
• Drive secure coding practices and DevOps adoption across projects.
• Collaborate with product managers, hardware engineers and external vendors to align solutions with goals.
