Job summary

talents recruiter private limited seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to lead the Design Department projects in Singapore. You will plan, allocate, and supervise tasks, ensuring design drawings and documents meet customer requirements and company quality standards.

You will coordinate with clients/consultants, prepare shop and final drawings, and provide technical backup for contracts. Knowledge of DC-grid systems and switchboards is essential, with 1–5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1-5 years of relevant working experience
• No relevant experience is welcome
• Knowledge of switchboards / panels
• Good knowledge of DC-grid power system and switchboard

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise subordinates within the Design Department.
• Plan, allocate and assign jobs to team members and be accountable for project results.
• Check and approve design drawings and documents produced by subordinates.
• Ensure effective implementation and control of Design Control functions and the quality system.
• Prepare material requisition lists for job requirements.
• Plan and design electrical switchboards, consoles and control panels per customer specs.
• Prepare approval drawings, shop drawings, final drawings/documents and short circuit calculations for submission.
• Coordinate with clients and consultants on technical requirements and attend discussions when required.
• Provide technical backup to Sales & Marketing for contract securing and change requests.
• Institute work improvements to reduce costs and wastage; follow QMS procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for projects of Design Department.
• Plan, allocate and assign jobs to subordinates and accountable for project result.
• Lead, guide and supervise subordinates.
• Check and approve design drawings and documents produced by subordinate
• Responsible for the effective implementation and control of the Design Control functions and quality system of the total Quality Management System.
• Prepare material requisition lists for job requirements.
• Plan and design electrical switchboards, consoles and control panels according to customer's requirements and standards.
• Prepare approval drawings, shop drawings, final drawings / documents, short circuit calculations, instruction manuals as required for submission to clients and shopfloor production.
• Co-ordinate with clients and consultants on the technical requirements. Attend technical discussions with clients and consultants when required.
• Feedback to Sales & Marketing Department for changes of technical requirements by clients for claims of additional costs and time.
• Check and follow-up on design and shop drawings with production departments.
• Assist and advise Sales & Marketing Department on technical matters; provide technical backup for securing of contracts.
• Institute work improvements to bring cost savings and reduce wastage for the Company.
• Carry out other responsibilities as and when assigned by the superiors.
• Follow the procedures of the Quality Management System for effective implementation and control.
