Job summary

STMicroelectronics in Singapore is seeking an Equipment Engineer to own assigned semiconductor tools and drive uptime, performance and reliability. You will lead preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex subsystems, and coordinate with process engineers to support yield and quality targets.

You will execute root cause analyses (8D/5-Why), supervise vendor FSEs, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while documenting all events in the asset history system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Materials Science Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of equipment/field service experience in Semiconductor area.
• Familiar with Trymax, Axcelis, Gasonic or Mattson tools.
• Proactive and adaptable, with strong learning agility and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good analytical and creative problem-solving skills with a keen eye to details.
• High degree of interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, 8D methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned tools and ensure uptime targets (OEE, MTBF, MTTR).
• Lead root cause analysis for chronic and high-impact issues using structured methods (8D, Fishbone, 5-Why).
• Coordinate and supervise vendor field service engineers during major interventions, upgrades and rebuilds.
• Plan, execute, and optimize preventive maintenance per OEM recommendations and fab strategies.
• Analyze tool logs, SPC charts, metrology data, and wafer maps to correlate equipment conditions with yield and parametric performance.
• Create and maintain SOPs and troubleshooting guides; document events in CMMS.
