Job summary

United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) is expanding its Singapore Fab and seeking an Equipment Engineer to join a fast-paced, precision-driven team. You will monitor SPC-related issues, maintain tool availability, and collaborate across production and process groups to drive improvements and reliability.

The role values hands-on problem solving, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead initiatives in a growing semiconductor environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in one of the listed engineering disciplines.
• At least 2 years of relevant semiconductor/foundry experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong analytical thinking and communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership through projects or competitions is advantageous.
• Willingness to work shift hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and resolve in-line SPC issues, equipment abnormalities, and lot handling promptly.
• Maintain equipment capability and ensure availability to meet production demand.
• Collaborate with production and process teams on tool usage for troubleshooting, maintenance, and output.
• Participate in troubleshooting and quality improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and production outcomes.
• Evaluate new equipment, materials, and retrofits to drive performance gains and production efficiency.
