Job summary

United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) invites applications for an Equipment Engineer to support our Singapore fab expansion. The role focuses on real-time SPC monitoring, equipment maintenance, and close collaboration with production and process teams to optimize tool usage and reliability.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field and at least 2 years in semiconductor environments, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field.
• 2+ years of experience in semiconductor/foundry is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong analytical thinking with effective communication and time management.
• Demonstrated leadership through projects, competitions or similar experiences.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and resolve in-line SPC issues, equipment abnormalities, and lot handling promptly.
• Maintain equipment capability and ensure availability to meet production demand.
• Collaborate with production and process teams on tool usage for troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Participate in troubleshooting and quality improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and production outcomes.
• Evaluate new equipment, materials, and retrofits to drive performance gains and production efficiency.
