Job summary

Nanyang Technological University Singapore is seeking a Senior Assistant Director, Community Engagement and Partnerships, to lead communications, events, education‑marketing, brand management and partnerships for EOS and ASE. This role reports to the Interim Director of EOS and/or Chair of ASE and supervises three sub-functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public policy, environmental science, or related discipline.
• 15+ years of senior experience in community engagement, communications and partnerships; journalism/media background preferred.
• 3–5+ years in leadership or supervisory roles.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and influencing across functions.
• Proven ability to deliver multi-year strategy and organizational change.
• Strong relationships with government, industry and academic stakeholders in Singapore/SEA.
• Experience developing financial sustainability through grants or earned revenue.
• Exceptional storytelling skills for diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of Singapore/ASEAN environmental policy landscape is beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; editorial and visual standards across channels.
• Experience managing external vendors, agencies and budgets; use of analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead restructuring of a newly merged Community Engagement and Partnerships office and develop a five-year strategy.
• Drive growth and reputational impact for EOS and ASE and position EOS as a national translational centre.
• Oversee integrated communications, media relations, social media, and media training.
• Build strategic storytelling translating complex research into policy-relevant narratives.
• Own brand and messaging framework; advise leadership on reputational risk and crisis comms.
• Monitor metrics and analytics to refine strategy and demonstrate impact.
• Oversee external engagement programs: schools, delegations, open houses, conferences and events.
• Lead strategy and execution of partnerships with industry, government and academia.
• Plan workshops for foresight, science-to-policy translation, and multi-stakeholder convenings.
• Develop financial sustainability through grants, continuing education revenue and partnerships.
• Manage communications budget and external vendors; lead a high-performing team.
