Job summary

Gradiant is seeking a seasoned engineer to lead multidisciplinary plant design and coordinate across equipment, piping, civil/structural, ducting, electrical and instrumentation. You will develop PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings and 3D models, review vendor drawings for compliance, and resolve interface issues to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Process or related).
• Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering design experience, preferably in water/wastewater or EPC projects.
• Strong coordination across mechanical, piping, civil/structural, electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
• Proficient in developing/reviewing PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, piping layouts, isometrics and 3D models.
• Experience with 3D plant modelling, design reviews and clash detection.
• Experience leading and mentoring junior engineers/designers.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Job Scope

• Lead the development and coordination of multidisciplinary plant designs, including equipment, piping, civil/structural, ducting, electrical and instrumentation requirements.

• Produce drawing drafts including PFDs, P&IDs, GAs, civil layouts, equipment plinths, equipment and skid layouts, piping layouts, pipe racks, piping isometrics, structural arrangements, 2D/3D models, and MTOs.

• Review engineering and vendor drawings, identify design discrepancies and ensure alignment with project specifications, process requirements, constructability and applicable engineering standards.

• Conduct 3D model reviews and clash detection, coordinating with relevant engineering disciplines to identify and resolve design interfaces and potential construction issues.

• Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, construction and installation, including resolving technical queries and incorporating approved design changes into as-built documentation.

• Coordinate with vendors, consultants, Professional Engineers, clients and internal stakeholders to obtain and incorporate technical information and ensure effective engineering interfaces.

• Support engineering planning, manpower estimation, WBS, document control and project scheduling to ensure engineering deliverables are completed accurately and on time.

• Provide technical guidance to engineers and designers, including reviewing work and coordinating workloads to meet project requirements.

• Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Construction, Process, Mechanical/Piping and E&I teams to ensure effective project execution and delivery.

Qualification, Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Process or a related engineering discipline.

• Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering design experience, preferably in water and wastewater treatment, desalination, industrial water, EPC or process plant projects.

• Strong experience in multidisciplinary plant design and engineering coordination, including equipment, piping, civil/structural, ducting, electrical and instrumentation.

• Proficient in developing and reviewing PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, piping layouts, isometrics and 2D/3D engineering models.

• Experience with 3D plant modelling, design reviews and clash detection.

• Experience supporting projects through basic engineering, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, installation and as-built phases.

• Good understanding of engineering standards, specifications, constructability and project requirements.

• Experience coordinating with vendors, consultants, clients, Professional Engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.

• Strong ability to review technical drawings, identify design issues and provide practical engineering solutions.

• Experience in leading, reviewing and mentoring junior engineers/designers.

• Strong project coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver engineering work within project timelines.

• Proficiency in relevant engineering design software, CAD and 3D modelling tools.

• Willingness to travel to project sites and undertake site visits when required.
