This is an opportunity to work closely with traders, analysts, and commercial teams, applying AI, machine learning, and quantitative techniques to commodity pricing, market fundamentals, forecasting, and trading analytics across global markets.
You will develop AI and machine learning models to support commodity price forecasting, fundamental analysis, and trading decisions. Working closely with traders and market analysts, you will combine market, pricing, supply and demand, inventory, weather, logistics, macroeconomic, and alternative datasets to identify market drivers and generate actionable insights.
You will build and improve forecasting models, apply time-series and machine learning techniques to complex market datasets, and explore emerging AI approaches to enhance research and trading workflows. You will also work with data and technology teams to productionise models and improve the availability and quality of market data.
We are looking for a Data Scientist with prior experience in commodities, energy, or physical trading markets, together with hands‑on experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions.
Experience in commodity pricing, fundamental forecasting, time-series modelling, statistical analysis, and machine learning is essential. You should be proficient in Python and SQL and comfortable working with large, complex market and fundamental datasets.
Experience applying AI/ML to areas such as price forecasting, supply and demand modelling, market balances, inventory, flows, or trading signals will be highly relevant. Exposure to Generative AI, LLMs, or AI‑driven research and analytics workflows would be advantageous.
The successful candidate should combine strong technical capabilities with commercial understanding and be able to translate quantitative and AI‑driven analysis into insights that can be used by traders and commercial stakeholders.
