Job summary

CHEVRON SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking a senior Data Scientist focused on trading analytics in Singapore (Duo Tower). The role spans data science, business engagement and end-to-end delivery, including ownership of select non-DS components of the overall solution.

The candidate will work with stakeholders to build deep business domain knowledge, deliver prototypes and POCs, and lead full solution delivery teams when needed, with a proven track record in Price and Fundamentals Forecasting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (Optimization, Statistics, Math, Engineering).
• PhD degree or higher preferred in the above disciplines.
• Minimum of 5 years Data Science modeling experience in Trading domain (forecasting, time series).
• Experience with feature engineering, data cleaning and data quality management.
• Proficient in Python & SQL; other languages optional.

Responsibilities

• Work across data science, business engagement and consulting to frame problems and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Lead integration of DS models with non-DS components of the solution.
• Partner with business stakeholders to build domain knowledge for trading analytics.
• Deliver prototypes, POCs, MVPs and subsequent enhancements in a fast-paced setting.
• Communicate analytical concepts clearly to business and IT audiences.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Overview of Work:

• A solid understanding of commodity markets, including supply-demand balances, trade flows, market arbitrage, and related dynamics, is essential.

• The role spans Data Science, business engagement and consulting, problem framing, and end-to-end delivery, including ownership of select non-data science components of the overall solution.

• The position requires strong partnerships with business stakeholders and a demonstrated desire to build deep business domain knowledge to design and implement complex trading-focused analytical models.

• The role operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, delivering prototypes, proofs of concept (POCs), minimum viable products (MVPs), and subsequent functional enhancements.

• The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively across business and IT audiences, translating analytical concepts into actionable outcomes.

• In some cases, the role will lead the full solution delivery team, coordinating across disciplines to ensure successful execution.

• Proven track record in delivering solutions such as Price and Fundamentals Forecasting.

Required Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

• Master's degree in quantitative discipline (Optimization, Statistics, Math, Engineering)

• Preferred PHD degree or higher in the above disciplines

• Minimum of 5 years Data Science modeling in Trading domain Predictive modeling and machine learning (forecasting and time series analysis)

• Feature engineering, data cleaning, and data quality management

• Statistical and quantitative modeling foundations

• Python & SQL coding and other languages (optional)

• Preferred knowledge in Generative AI/Agentic AI

• Preferred experience working with Data Robot, Databricks, PowerBI, Azure Machine Learning, and other Azure Cloud tools and technologies

Professional Skills:

• Delivery driven and able to work independently (self-starter)

• Ability to discuss and gather requirements for a Data Science solution with non-technical personnel

• Ability to package requirements for technical resources and communicate with them

• Ability to mentor junior data scientists and commercial analysts

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

• Preferred experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) tool for work management

• Preferred experience in Agile/SAFe practices
