Job summary

Activate Interactive Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based technology consultancy, seeks a senior data engineer to own end-to-end data pipelines and design scalable data models for operational and analytical workloads.

You will build and maintain data governance and observability infrastructure, collaborating with engineers on platform architecture and AI-enabled features while navigating regulatory constraints.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of production data systems end-to-end.
• Strong data engineering fundamentals: ETL/ELT design, data modeling, batch and streaming processing.
• Proficient in at least one general-purpose programming language; capable of building production-grade backends.
• Solid API design and system architecture; able to work across the stack when needed.
• Experience with cloud-native data platforms or lakehouse architectures.
• Comfortable operating with autonomy and taking a lead in technical decisions.
• Strong communication skills; able to explain trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design and delivery of data pipelines, from ingestion to serving.
• Design data models and storage architectures for both operational and analytical workloads.
• Build and maintain infrastructure for data quality, observability, and governance.
• Contribute to broader product and platform architecture with other engineers.
• Design extensible systems to support AI/retrieval-based features over time.
• Contribute to key technical decisions, escalating trade-offs when needed.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on platform and deployment decisions.
• Work with data sensitivity and system constraints in regulated environments.
