Job summary

Bank of China in Singapore is seeking an experienced Credit Risk professional to evaluate lending proposals, set credit limits, and align collateral values with policy and risk appetite. You will work with internal stakeholders on credit structuring and monitor risk controls with the Risk Management Department.

The role requires 8–10 years in credit evaluation within Private Banking, strong knowledge of loan products and credit covenants, and the ability to develop and validate credit models.

Qualifications

• 8 to 10 years of credit evaluation experience in Private Banking.
• Good understanding of loan products, credit covenants and credit control functions.
• Able to develop, calibrate and validate credit models.
• Good knowledge on Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese, as the role requires regular communication with Head Office.

Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate and make credit decisions on granting lending limits and assigning collateral values aligned with regulatory guidelines, credit policies and risk appetite within the Bank.
• Support internal stakeholders for credit advisory and credit structuring to identify key risks and work out a risk balanced solution acceptable for clients and the Bank.
• Maintain close collaboration with Risk Management Department to reach a common and balance understanding of key credit risks and control practices.
• Implement adequate credit systems and tools to support the credit lending business.
• Ensure that the Bank's risk management framework, policies, procedures and guidelines remain effective in identifying the credit risk of Borrowers.
• Issue credit documentation, and monitor the risk controls for credit conditions per credit approvals.
• Prepare credit related reports and monitor credit violations for escalation to Management where required.
• Support Team Lead in adhoc tasks, audit inspection, operation risk control management and system enhancement projects in relation to credit management.
